FAQ
Does the extension start from the approval date?+
No. The 30-day extension begins from your original expiry date, not from the date you apply.
When should I apply?+
You must apply before your current permitted stay expires. It is common to apply in the final week before expiry.
Can I extend more than once?+
No. You can normally only receive one 30-day extension per entry. If you want to stay longer, you will need to leave Thailand and re-enter or apply for a different visa.
How much does a tourist visa extension cost?+
The fee is 1,900 THB, payable at the immigration office (cash).
If my passport stamp says 7 August, when do I need to leave Thailand?+
If your permitted stay stamp shows 7 August, you should depart Thailand before 11:59 PM on 7 August. Do not stay past midnight into 8 August. To reduce risk, leave earlier in the day in case of delays or checkpoint issues.
