Key Rules Before Applying

Apply outside Thailand through the Thai e-Visa platform / Thai Embassy

Main applicant is at least 20 years old

Passport valid at least 6 months from travel date

Can provide bank statements for at least 3 months showing at least 500,000 THB or local equivalent

Have proof of your current location or residence in the country where you are applying

Choose the correct DTV track: Workcation, Thai soft power, or Dependent

Required Documents (upload to eVisa)

Passport biodata page

Recent passport-style photo, taken within the last 6 months

Official document confirming current location

Bank statements for at least 3 months showing 500,000 THB+ or local equivalent

Workcation (remote worker / freelancer / foreign talent)(Select one)

Employment contract or employment certificate

Reference letter from employer, client, or HR confirming your remote-work role, where requested

Cover letter explaining your workcation purpose and confirming you will not work for a Thai employer or Thai clients, where relevant

Formal consent / acknowledgement letter that you understand DTV permits remote work only, where requested

Recent salary slips or income evidence, where requested

Professional portfolio or proof of freelancer / remote worker status, where requested

After Submission

Pay the visa fee according to the embassy / e-Visa instructions

Save or print the payment QR / payment instructions if the embassy requires in-person payment

Print and save the visa approval once issued

After entering Thailand, track your 180-day permission to stay and extension deadline if you plan to stay longer

Notes

DTV document requirements vary by embassy; it's best to prepare everything you might need in advance
Use clear scans of your documents. Poor quality uploads are a common reason for follow-up requests.
For soft power applications, the provider's documentation matters. Ask what they can provide before paying.
DTV is multiple-entry, so a re-entry permit is not normally needed for travel while the visa remains valid.
